The Sculptor's Attitude

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.

Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.

Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.

Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.

Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.

Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses. Today I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships.

Today I can whine because I have to go to work or I can shout for joy because I have a job to do.
Today I can complain because I have to go to school or eagerly open my mind and fill it with rich new tidbits of knowledge.

Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or I can feel honored because I have a shelter for my mind, body and soul.

Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping.
What today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of day I will have!

Have a GREAT DAY ... unless you have other plans.

What have I done in 2007?

Fitness
1. Pretty much consistently sticked with my gym regime. Pulled off a few reps of 120kg back squats. And later shifted to full depth back squats, currently at 10 rep sets at 80kg. Deadifts, 120kg, few reps. Bench press, 70kg, few reps.

2. So happen came into contact with rock climbing towards the very end of 2007, and became addicted to it.

3. Lost some flabs for good. Gained some strength for good too.

4. Invested in some new toys.

Meet the ab wheel and the doorway chin up bar. =)

Career
This will be the first time I mention my career in this blog. Started my career as a multimedia designer right after graduation in November 2006. Shifted to a new company once. Did a few projects that I could be proud of. Completed several freelance projects. Compiled a handful big names in my portfolio. Received a job offer from a big time agency, took it, leaving my current job soon.

Others

Organized yet another Dhammaduta Youth Camp (D2YC) with the same bunch of kalyana mitras. Seeing improvement from the past year, and we will be going a lot further than where we are now in years to come, I know.

Attended another memorable D2Y Camp X in Sasanarakha Buddhist Sanctuary, Taiping.

Got myself a handsome Naza 206. Thanks to my mom n dad.

Old Year Resolution 2007

At the point of time when the new year resolution was made, my weight was 69kg with excessive bfp, managing around 70 push-ups straight.

My fitness related resolution for year 2007:

1. 100 push-ups straight
End of 2007, I recorded a 106 reps of push-ups. Ermm... yay~.

2. 75kg @ 10% bfp
However, the 2nd resolution was rather overestimation of what is bodybuilding. After the last round of cutting in November. 62kg is what's left on me, with a few percent of bfp higher than 10%. No yay.
